THE DEVIL OF LIGHT: Gae-Lynn Woods
Hey, all! After my bout in the swamp last night, I woke up with something tantamount to Spanish moss growing out of my armpits! Epilady is just not workin’ and green is not exactly lining up with my Halloween décor. Blast these anomalies! As if it isn’t hard enough to hide my morphing into a werecat on nights of the full moon, now I have to deal with this! But I’ll stop scraping it off my flesh because it’s Daily Book Giveaway time and I don’t want you to miss this one! It’s all about cults, cabals and neighbors that you think you know, but don’t. Yeah, you had a feeling about some of them being one note shy of Looneytuneville and you were right!
Today it’s all about Texas gal, Gae-Lynn Woods, and there’s nothing tougher than a Texan except for the way they write! She’s no exception (although how she writes with that shotgun under her arm is beyond me!), and there are two ecopies of her debut novel THE DEVIL OF LIGHT up for grabs. It’s the first in the Cass Elliot Crime series, and don’t even get me started on what I had to do to get Gae-Lynn to participate! It was hard sneaking up on her, especially when I was caught in that cattle stampede and trampled underfoot! Damn, cows! Then there was her firing over my head to keep me off her property, but I’m sure she was missin’ on purpose ‘cause she’s a better shot than that! And the flesh wounds will clear up in a week or two—or so the doctor keeps telling me. But in persevering and not giving up, I ended up clinching two ecopies and if that doesn’t spell success I don’t know what does!
As for the contest, same rules apply. All you have to do is go to the Official Facebook HALLOWEENPALOOZA Event Page and comment in today’s post that you want to win and you just might! Link is below. So turn off the TV, sit back and get ready for one terrific mystery thriller coming your way! If you win, guaranteed you’ll be up all night trying to figure out this one!!! Good luck!!!

cranky donkey.

THE DEVIL OF
LIGHT
"This debut effort is further proof that there are
undiscovered novelists out there who can more than keep up with the big names.
I expect we'll be hearing more of Gae-Lynn Woods in the future." --
Russell Blake, acclaimed author of The Geronimo Breach, Fatal Exchange, and The
Zero Sum trilogy.
A BIZARRE MURDER
Angie Scarborough killed her husband after she
discovered his dirty secret – he liked sex with men and little girls. Still raw
from her own unsolved rape six years ago, Detective Cass Elliot is stunned when
confronted with graphic photographs of faceless men and children scattered
across the Scarborough kitchen floor.
A COVERT WEB OF LIES AND EXPLOITATION
Cass and her partner Mitch Stone delve into a cunning
world of blackmail and violence – and find a cult concealed for nearly a
century beneath the genteel, small town façade of Arcadia in East Texas. Their
hunt for child molesters triggers a brutal response from powerful men who will
protect their identities at any cost. They unleash a ruthless killer whose
actions create a media frenzy and destroy the fabric of trust within the police
department.
A PERVASIVE EVIL
Cass and Mitch circle closer to the cult’s few members,
following a slim lead into a night lit by fire. A night that begins with a blood
ritual and ends with Cass holding a man's life - or death - in her hands and
struggling to walk the fine line between vengeance and justice.
Novel length - 129,000 words, approximately 430 ebook
pages, 369 paperback pages.
